ya if they even knew about it they probably didnt anyway they probably left them for some poor unsuspecting person to buy...but still wonder where the kids parents were the whole time i wouldnt let a kid that small run around in a candy store LOL just common sense and so much for the not sampling signs haha cause no one reads them i see tons of people "testing" a ton of different candies

If it were a $1 pen and it's a long way to go back, I wouldn't bother. But if it's a $10 item, I'd definitely be on the way back to the store with it.

I do get annoyed though, when I do something like this, bring something back because my conscience gets to me - it seems they don't give a damn about my honesty and they aren't the least bit appreciative!

I definately hear you about the conscience thing... it happened to me this winter. For me, it's a big expense with the car not working right now, and no public transportation (small town) I have to take a taxi... so that means it's a $5 fare each way... I'm going to make sure it's worth the price! SO... what I did, was I waited until the next time I was in the store (it was Sobey's) and I approached one of the staff there and explained what happened and asked what she would have me do.

I didn't have the item on me (wasn't expecting to go to Sobey's that day, just happened while I was in town) and I told her I could either pay for the item or bring it back, so she could scan it. She said, "thanks for your honesty, it's ok, you don't have to worry about it anymore." AND that... was it! She said thanks and told me not to worry about it, because I told her it really bothered me.

(It was a package of hooks for hanging tea cups, the small package just didn't get rung in, when I got home, they weren't on my receipt)... so, I have the hooks (they don't work, so I can't take them back... which is funny to me... but none the less... they didn't need the money...apparently. LOL)

Honesty is best policy. Then I can sleep at night knowing I did the right thing; because I know that it would have ticked me off to know that someone wasn't honest with me when I owned my store.

i find there is a huge difference between small shops and big box stores, i would go back if it were a smal lshop but the big box store i have no problem with walking away, they make so much money off of you, they have a whole team of people trying to figure how they can justify charging you more

It seems more like twitter with extras now and I hate that you can't turn off certain applications from posting from others' profiles on your feed - my whole page is taken up with peeps right now
