So we had no choice because she lost her mind at toiletteuse and was agressive that calling for the 2 time a veterinary (she was put to sleep and then shaved)....because she had is to fat she cannot leak herself and developped a ba infection to his butt and intime parties...she had some poop on her but causing the irritation so they shaved her.Apparently that went okaie and I had an idea of the cost before but it was more than that.l.so I was very upset and still I am ... and get migraines because of that..but I paid...no choice.
I love her that is not the question but veterinary are too expensive...My governement deposit of 500$ for the high of life taxes went to that..I would have spend the money to change my old stove if I had the choice..but no I did not have the choice

So for my other old cat eve I took the decision to not bring her to see the veterinary for her problems not to major for her old age.... it can sound selfish but it is not.... she is at the end of their life...13 years old at least...
I just cannot afford another big expensive bill..but she will be put to diet her too...
I take care of my 2 precious cats the best i can. they are good and well being, clean litter and fresh enough food and water...so dont judge me please...

I will detail the bill below and you will understand why I am upset

So are all the veterinay charge the same fees???
    As for dentist???

    Bill:
    Appointment with veterinary`75,00$( no choice)
    Anasthesic : 87,00$
    Shaving : 100,00$
injection of pills in liquid form for her butt and intime parties infections:58$
Pills (like anxiety pills for next time shaving in a ordinary toiletteuse @60$ ):19$
new food for her diet Purina Veterinary Diet weight management 2,72 kg : 55,00$!!! unbelievable
and the darn taxes... 60$ wow ...that is awfull

    *********=450$ total*******

add a 60$ transport cage I had to purchase at pet store because I did not have one before... no choice...

note that I was not aware before picking her ,her infection and new food, and anxiety pills(but good think they dont encourage anasthesa and I will not pay this price another time)...so that added up to the unexpected bill...

Eve will be on a diet as well.(no choice)
They are my two babies , more than simple cats to me.
They are emotionnal support when I am felling down
A bag of Purina Cat Chow 7 kg cost with taxes 30$ at maxi and cie grocery ...and last for a good moment..now it is the double price for I dont know how much time...???.

So I tookk a chance I wrothe to Purina on their website by email to ask for coupons for their new vet food..explaining the situation..hope they will send some coupons and I know there a 5$ printable in the purina website....now the question is: Does veterinary clinic accept coupons since it is veterinary food..??? I hope so

*** I will have to wash Stella butt with a wipe of a towel with water to help her to clean herself..she can she is too fat now..
I am so mad because she was not fat when we adopted her..but my dad *&*(&* so frustrated think food is love...so he give them all they want!!! I will check him and yell him for that..that could have been skipped...that awfull situation

so I feel he is responsible for that I blame him..

    thanks for reading

oh @cath007 I KNOW what you mean about overfeeding our cats and dogs. My problem is DH, he always thinks if the cats meow at him that they are asking for food or treats and so he gives them both! Every time! I have to be the " bad cop " and told him not to do that anymore. They get fed BY ME first thing in the morning when DH is asleep.
They also get treats mid day ( when he is still sleeping ) and then at night I give them a second full meal.

Oh I hope you can get some sort of a break in the cost of that special diet food recommended by the vet, whether coupons come or the vet accepts them.
We just could not justify feeding our 4 pets ( at that time we had 2 dogs, 2 cats ) all a special diet food. We did try for about 1 year and it got ridiculous, we were spending more on pet food than human food?!
    Best of luck my dear!

@cath007 is there anyway for you to buy a food at the Pet store for weight management for cats . I know there is for dogs and maybe try it with Eve and see if it works. I know vet bills can be very expensive but you said it our Fur baby are our family and we usually above and beyond for them

wow..i feel for you. our cat was 16 when we decided to have her put down, she was in liver failure. about 3 months earlier she had a bad absess tooth & we made the decision to have it removed...almost $900- having a pet is bloody expensive. good luck to you & wee stella. ;-)
