Thanks to everyone for all the codes this year, wishing everyone a happy new year.
A few notations to a poem that I wrote last New Year's Eve,
No quirky advice or suggestions on how you can achieve,
No K-Tel magic moments to help the light to shine,
No maps that need unfolding to help you all align,
You all know the rule of thumb about considering another's feelings,
We also know to be practical when it comes to life & its' dealings,
You may be an animal lover or maybe you're an amazing cook,
Perhaps you danced your way through the seventies & read a self-help book,
Remember the 1980's & did you have one of those shocking perms?
Wasn't there a sappy movie about endearment & its terms?
What did you do in the 90's & did you have Windows 95?
Did you ever think the world could be right there on your hard drive?
Remember all the hoopla about the pending millennium crash?
& are we in the midst of a pace that goes so fast that you almost have a rash?
Now we turn our calendars to the non-leap year two thousand and fifteen,
& gone are the days when we would tabulate on a Burrough's adding machine,
Just remember when to take issue & know when it's just time to chill,

Will the Leafs start scoring & making resolutions to be a reckoning force?
Why must they linger in the basement instead of being this year's dark horse?
When I was young we had Darryl Sittler, a guy who could score & assist,
Roger Neilson was a motivating coach & to this day he is missed,
Ian Turnbull & Lanny McDonald kept their sticks upon that cold ice,
Maple Leaf Gardens was abuzz, the hockey style was far more concise
Many years ago now as the memories grow distant & fleeting,
Out of the playoffs again, is this what they'll be repeating?
Happy New Year to all the people who support my favourite team,
Quality hockey for 2015 would be a perfect kind of dream.
