Having listened to the Interview with John Tortorella a couple of times, I believe this to be the correct answer.
He makes this point at least three times in the interview.

3.) He wanted to retire so he could be more involved with his family and help coach his boys.

I just answered the Fan Exam and select choice #1 and was notified that this was the WRONG answer.

I guess that #2 - "He retired because he felt he couldn’t be any more successful." has to be the correct answer by default then.

I have never had so much problem with a Fan Exam as I and many of you have had today.

Lets Hope in the future that the answers are more explicit and not so ambiguous based on the interview.
