Halton Tech for Teens on Facebook is accepting working laptops and computers to give to residents needing technology for work, study or accessing community resources. On Facebook:

Inkjet cartridges- Staples has recycling bins for different brands in-store. The bins may be the tech dept or back of store, as each store varies. Ask staff to be sure.

Batteries from smoke alarms, remote controls, garage door openers, small tech items, flashlights etc. Many stores like Longos, Fortinos, Canadian Tire and Rona offer recycling bins for batteries in one spot in- store. Batteries from large equipment likely has to go elsewhere: maybe your retailer takes in old batteries if you buy new ones with them or you have a community hazardous waste program.
