Freebies & what I plan to do with them

Because of being a member of SC, I've been lucky enough to learn from some pretty amazing people how to wait, watch the flyers, and price check my way to free or almost free items. It's amazing the number of packages of hair dye (which I use), tp, cereal, shaving gel, body wash (and I can continue but I won't) that I have currently stored in rubbermaid containers in our home. So I want to gratefully thank each and everyone of you for all your advise, tips and trades because I had the most greatest idea come to me last week.

I participate in the "Relay for Life" walk that we have in our area June of each year. And luckily so far, I've been able to walk most of the 12 hours comfortably. Because of the recession, and job losses in this area lately, I have a feeling that people may not be so generous in pledges as they have in the past (not that I blame them AT ALL, we all have to eat RIGHT?)

So this year when I have my yearly May 24 yard sale, I plan to set up a table with all the freebies that I have stockpiled over the last 4 months (and still have a month to collect) and sell them at a profit to me (but below the store costs in our area). All of the proceeds will go to the Relay. Not only am I helping out a great cause in my mind, but I'm clearing out the cupboards for the balance of the year so that I can stock up again.

So again. Thank you one and all. For the trades, for the advise, the tips, and your friendship. I would not be able to do this without any of you.

Just as a side note, if anyone has any additional coupons that they won't be using that you think that I could sell in the yard sale, I will gladly trade with you if I have something you might want. All the help will be greatly appreciated.

Great Idea!!! The members of SC are amazing, I see countless people donating tons of things to food banks, selling it for charities, etc...This summer, a few of my close friends are going to Nicaragua with VIDA to provide medical and dental relief. I plan on loading them up with body washes, soaps, shampoos, non-perishable goods, etc for them to give out down there...It's an amazing feeling when you're making a difference...Great job again! :D
