I only really actively starting couponing in January. Thanks to SC I quickly heard about LD and stacking coupons. It took me a while to collect some stacks...then the guts to go. My goal $1 or less per product.
Thanks to many tips by many couponers (special mention to Sea Potato Thanks!) I made up a list with totals of the stacks, decided what to buy, marched up to the customer service counter as recommended, had each stack paperclipped and paid. The cashier was not familiar with stacking so I politely said "as far as I understand London Drugs allows stacking as long as the coupons have different codes". She called over another cashier who also said she didn't know. They called over a supervisor and she said no problem as long as you don't go over the value. This was Edmonton Common South (for those Edmontonians) Yay! I had butterflies! I usually don't ever buy airfreshener as I am a candle girl but didn't have enough of the candle coupons so here is what I got:
Febreze Air effects 275 ml
Regular 3.99 on sale 2.99 - 2.00 coupons = 99 cents
Olay quench 600 ml+ Olay Ultra moisture Body Wash 354 ml + 30ml sample of Olay Quench. Regular price for all 3 18.99 on sale for 13.98 - 9.00= $4.98 for all 3 items - I didn't quite have a big enough stack but still happy with that price
Venus Razor regular 14.99 on sale 9.99 - 9.00 coupons= 99 cents
Nonstack: Clean and Clear in store coupon. Buy any clean and clear get a 148 ml Clean and Clear Fizzing cleanser normally 9.99 for free
Bought Clean and clear facial cleansing wipes Regular 6.99 on sale 4.99 and got the fizzy cleanser for free.
Total after sales before coupons $43.54 - Total spent $13.55. I think I did ok for my first time. Hubby was happy....I know others do better. The supervisor seemed pretty adamant I couldn't go over the value so I didn't suggest using more coupons and adjusting. Maybe next time.
Coupon savings 29.99. Oh yeah...I will do it again soon! Just have to save some more stacks.
That was all on my lunch break in 30 minutes.
I went to Sobeys after work to buy produce and found the following coupons:
More Europes best fruit and Veg
Lipton Buy 2 save $1
Chunky buy 2 save $1
and finally the best a coupon I have not seen before:
Buy 2 Betty Crocker Potatoes get 1 Pillsbury Brownie (froz food sect) free!
That one expires July 31/09 if you haven't seen it and was found with the brownies in the dairy case.
Thanks to everyone with all your tips on stacking!!Last edited by Cheapnik; Wed, Apr 15th, 2009 at 11:23 PM.

The only regret I have is not getting the name of the Supervisor who let me do it just in case for next time. Will do that next time.

Amazing! Congratulations!
Life's Little Instructions: Think big thoughts but cherish simple pleasures, never refuse homemade brownies, remember other people's birthdays, floss your teeth, return all things you borrow and leave everything a little better than you found it.
