I understand that Boo. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to center out your post. Looks as though I did.
You were making a joke! And I laughed!
You are totally right. The scene is not something to ever get into. I've seen a lot of lives flush away because of this foolishness.
My oldest brother being my closest.
I'll spare you the details but the life killed him last December. That's what I was referring too as it only causes heartache.

Oh thank you everyone.
The family is managing ok. Christmas was hardest for my dad, but we were all very supportive of him as he has taken it the hardest.

Thanks so much for all the info! I appreciate it.
ilovemykids- I'm so sorry for your loss. What a tragedy that is.
It is such a hard thing to explain "addiction" to your kids. Having teenagers is certainly a wild ride and I'm just taking it one day at a time and watching their every move- without them knowing it!
The kid I saw with the bong was not my own but I'm still worried about him as he is my friend's son and was a A++ student. Not sure if he still is or not now?! I agree with Boo that drugs and happiness in life don't usually go together BUT I do understand what drives people into making those choices for themselves. Some people have more than their share of emotional pain in their lives and I feel for them.
alajen- enjoy those early years!
Thanks to everyone again.
