I noticed a lot of people got pinecone's "household surveys" and "product surveys" mixed up

Pinecone sends out a very short "household survey" asking you a couple of quick questions... based on your answers to these questions they will decide whether or not to email you the real survey. There is no reward for completing a household survey but it only takes about a minute to complete.

So there are cases where I got household surveys and knew that my replies will not get me the product survey. For example I got a household survey about cigarettes and smoking and after I answered "no" to the first question which was "Do you smoke?" they said thanks and the household survey ended and I never got any cigarette-related product surveys.

If they decide that you are eligible for the survey (e.g. they will only send you a survey about a new dish washing product if you have a dish washer - which makes sense - and they know you have a dish washer through the household survey) you will get the long survey. This usually takes 20 minutes to complete and you will get a $5 compensation for completing it. A couple of days later you will get the $5 cheque.

Note that pinecone usually mails out a cheque before you even complete the product survey that's why if you don''t complete the survey once or twice they will kick you out of the program.
