I too went about a week ago to register with ToysRus and since I read the posts here I was expecting a lot more than what was given. Yes, I know that it is free and I am very pleased to have received something rather than nothing, but all and all, it was a disappointment. Like others, had lots of informational brochures, 2 lansinol (sp?) samples, a diaper, the $5 coupon and not much else.
I am happy to have received the gift, don't get me wrong, it just seems weak in comparison to what other people have received. I went to the one near Centerpoint maill in North York. Could the location have been the problem?

I got the same as mydoglugnut, except for no diaper. I'm not sure if location has anything to do with it. Or does it?
I agree a gift is a gift and it is appreciated, however it does seem weaker than most.

You can go in and register your next addition to your family and then you get a goody bag.

I registered online and when I went in store to add items they never gave me anything. I registered at the Bay thru the Babytime show and got a gift card just for going into the store and adding items. I never did actually give anyone the registry number. I only used the Babies R Us one.
Apparently if you register at Sears and you have your baby on your due date all your items purchased are free! Wonder how this works for scheduled c-sections?
I've actually heard of a lot of friends registering at Wal-Mart. Lots of the same stuff as Babies R Us and SOOO much cheaper!!

Walmart no longer does gift registiries - at least not in Southern Ontario. It is unfortunate because most items are cheaper. However, you can still buy from Walmart or Zellers and then just call the 800 number for Toys r Us and have the item bought indicated on the registry. That's what I did for a few registries to save some money.
