HATE IT!!! I just hate public washrooms. What gets me the most mad is at work .. in the morning the washrooms are neat and tidy plus they are clean. After awhile customers start to use them and the one at the front is horrible.. it stinks after the first 3 hours. The one at the back is much better because customers do to use it as much however it does get bad once the customers do start to use it.

One HUGE pet peeve women who bring their little boys into the washrooms and do not CHECK the stall after they have pee'd. Little boys tend to miss and pee on the seat.... shame on the mothers for this and it happens nearly daily. I get so upset if I sit down on a wet seat. I check trust me I do but sometimes you can not see it.

If you have a little boy you bring into the womens washroom with you........... PLEASE !!!!!----> Check the stall afterwards to make sure he did not pee on the seat it very disturbing to go in and find a stall with the seat pee'd on and the floor as well.

    Rant over..

It always astounds me how women pee all over the seats in public washrooms.
WM has some of the nastiest washrooms.

I am not usually a hover kind of person but I have been forced to do that sometimes in some public washrooms that are just nasty. I always find the cineplex bathrooms to be bad. I have also noticed that many of the toilets have super sprays on them so when you flush some of the water sprays onto the toilet so the seats always seem to be wet. I prefer to hold it if I can.

I know, at home I close the lid before I flush cause I am paranoid of all the nastiness that goes in the air and even in my face. But in public washrooms I can't do that, and they use spray heavy some of them. Or have the automatic flush that you can't control very well if you are squatting.

I agree! My Walmart is HORRIBLE for the cleanliness, or rather lack thereof, when it comes to their bathrooms. Although there is one store that tops them all: Zellers. Their bathrooms are nasty. It baffles me that people are too lazy to flush or too lazy to clean up anay messes they leave behind. I think, if they do THIS in public, what are their homes like?

I think a good thing to do is, flush, look and see if it gone, is it gone? then you are safe to leave, if it's not, flush again. I hate seeing people crap.

This is how someone with ocd deals with the bathroom issue:

    -Walk in
-grab first section of toilet paper and use it to lock the door - this allows you to not touch the door lock and also to get rid of the first bit of tp others may have touched.
-Squat! Very important (also how most of the pee prolly ends up on the seat) no sitting means no pee on the legs and no germs on my bum
-When finished use more tp or your foot to flush
    -tp to open lock
-still armed with tp push leaver to prepare paper towel
-still armed with tp turn on taps
    -wash
    -grab pre-prepped paper towel
-use paper towel to turn off taps
-hold onto papertowel and use to open the door (to protect from all those nasty's that didn't even wash thier hands)
-once open, hold door open with foot and get some hoop practise as you throw the paper towel into the garbage (note to business owners, garbage by the door please)
-use hand sanitizer to kill germs found in public washroom's sink taps! (k. that might be pushing it but it makes me feels better)

Is it hard to live in my world - sometimes

I wish toilet liners were in all washrooms like Nevada and other states lol!

I think the biggest issue is that people are effing pigs. I went into a Tim Hortons with Zee last Friday and we use the handicapped (he sits to pee still he was just turned 3) I opened the door and it was a bloody massacre in there (tmi) a bloody tampon on the floor, blood all over. I almost puked.

He had to go so we squeezed in the single washroom. I was so grossed out.

Honestly though a lot of places have their washrooms checked every hour. Its not enough for a busy place really. All it takes is one disgusting person to ruin it for everyone.

I never leave a mess, because its rude and disgusting.

April, I'd like the point out the pee on the floor and toilet most often isn't from little boys but from women squatting and making on heck of a mess and not cleaning it up. We weren't made to squat lol!!

lol - these are the worst! When they flush when you're in the middle of peeing and start spraying water everywhere. Have caused one or two panic attacks in my world.

blueegg, I salute you! I try to do most of that!
Avoidance is the best, of course.
You just get to know what places have the better looked after washrooms, especially when you have a kid. Or, as you get older, lol!

It baffles me as well. I can not figure out how people can just walk away and not flush.

I am a freak when it comes to a clean bathroom at home so I expect everyone to be the same I guess. Silly me.
