My latest obsession is with cluster bracelets. I love the look of them, but what a pain to have to make wire loops for each tiny bead. :P This is my third one, it took about 8 hours to make (first one took nearly 20 hours!).

Wow!!! You guys are amazing!
When I was 15-18, I started an internet business called Love Junkie Designs. I'd spend every spare moment designing and sewing up tote bags! They actually sold really well world wide and I was able to fund 3 trips to NYC!

Janetta, your one of a kind bags are amazing!!!! I mean it....I want one!!!!Do you still make and sell.....Let me know
Been a while since I posted.
The 2 necklaces (shell & silver plated chain) are going to a silent auction for a charity my friend volunteers with.
I've made a few more cluster bracelets. They're such an exercise in patience (& great physio for my hands). The whitish one with speckles is a stone called Lotus Jasper, the others have beads made of shell (the chains for all 4 are silver plated).
Andit, they are all SO beautiful - and you are so kind to donate!
I especially love the bracelets... usually necklaces are too short for me.
Andi...I've only done ONE of those and it was one too many for me! I congratulate you on continuing with them...they really are a proctological nuisance to make and my arthritic hands just can't cope as well anymore. Have you also done cluster rings? I did one of those, too...yep...only one!
Your work is lovely..and donating to a charity is so typical of your generous spirit!
From several years ago - the pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) done by me, as well as the cross-stitched embroidery piece.
Thanks. :flowers:
Thanks! :flowers:
I've never tried to make a ring, maybe one of these days. How did you make the cluster ring? Wirework or by gluing the beads on a framework?
Those eggs are gorgeous! & the cross-stitch is lovely as well. My attempts at needlework were never that pretty. :)
Everything is so beautiful. I have so many projects started like crocheting, scrapbook, sewing but just not completed. I need to focus and finish projects and stop starting new things. Although I'm going to Michaels today maybe I will start another new craft/hobby I have been thinking about candle making, lol.
Hey everyone!
I'm really interested in doing some cross-stitching. I went to Fabricland to find some aida cloth but it had a big width (and $27/m!) so I went to walmart and saw some 15x18in for $4, but it was much stiffer than I imagined. I'm looking to maybe cross-stitching something and sew it into, say, a camera case or pencil case? Something softer, like canvas? But I couldn't find any loose-weave canvas at fabricland :(
If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! I'd also love to try needlepointing, but for small things, you know.
I also desperately need some ideas for a homemade birthday gift for a friend, but I'm not sure what I can make in time! I've done a lot of different crafts but I don't know what I can make in time (party is on the 5th!) and I don't know when I can get to a sewing machine :(
Aida really softens once you start handling it.
