TODAY ONLY! (Monday July 20, 2009)
Exactly 40 years ago, on July 20, 1969, Apollo 11's Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men to set foot on the moon.
Carina Software will be commemorating the 40th anniversary of the first time humans walked on the moon on July 20 by offering its astronomy applications for the Mac and iPhone for free. The company will be offering download-only versions of its SkyVoyager and SkyGazer apps for the Mac, iPhone and iPod touch free of charge for the day on Monday, July 20.
EDIT: it seems that you will need to process this as a 'purchase', using a PayPal account, to pay only 1 cent ('free') for the download. (You will get a serial key to install it on 2 computers.). It came out to be $0.03 Canadian Dollars - still an extremely great value! When it goes for $100.00
To get it, go here:
http://www.carinasoft.com/order/store.html
1. Click on 'Voyager' link, then scroll down to the 'Voyager 4.5 CD Online Download' option, to get it for 1 cent today only. (Regular cost: $100US!)
you can also get this separately:
2. Click on 'SkyGazer' link, then scroll down to the 'SkyGazer 4.5 Online Download' option, to get it for 1 cent today only. (Regular cost: $100US!)
It will then take you to your PayPal account login, to confirm the purchase (as usual), and then eventually the download link (with serial key information) should be sent to your email, to complete it.
Please take advantage of this if you can. Voyager is a great 'desktop planetarium' software, and you could get it for free, when it normally costs $100US.
Happy Lunar Landing Anniversary!
