You mean a steam cleaner? I know sobeys rents them, not sure how much. I've been meaning to steam clean the couch in my living room but I enjoy living in filth so.

i've rented from carpet repair places before (i rented one a few weeks ago) and it was $25 for 24 hrs. i think the price was similar when i rented from foodland/foodtown. i think its the actual carpet cleaner sol'n thats pricey

I agree renting the machine is only around 20.00 its the solutions that cost alot.

At metro on mon tues and wed its two days for one .. not sure the price though

Doing it yourself is definitely cheaper. I think around $25 is standard. You can get them at a lot of chain grocery stores. You don't have to use the solution they have next to the machines. It might be cheaper to get it at Walmart.

Loblaws is around 28$ dollars, Monday-Wednesday 2nights for 1, cleaners cost a lot, but I've been told hot water works well too. I'd do price comparsion between carpet cleaners in the cleaning aisle and the ones that go with the cleaner.
