I couldn't resist finding out about the dog days of summer!

The dog days are defined as the period from July 3 through Aug. 11 when the Dog Star, Sirius, rises in conjunction (or nearly so) with the Sun. As a result, some felt that the combination of the brightest luminary of the day (the Sun) and the brightest star of night (Sirius) was responsible for the extreme heat that is experienced during the middle of the summertime.

Thank you, Natalka!! I want to get that footprint enlarged to 8x10 with a big white mat around it and give it to 'the kids' for Christmas....I think it would be so cute!!
As for these 'dog days', I remember it having to do with some sky thing...Well...the timing is bang on for us sweltering in the heat out here!
DH and I keep playing deuling-air-conditioning...he says he's too cold, I tell him he can put on a sweater. But if I'm hot, there's nothing I can do about it! :cheesygrin:

AAAaaarghhh!! I can't give you guys any reps!! I guess I have to spread the love around but lately I haven't been on here much...I cut and sewed our DD a new jersey wrap dress yesterday and went out and got more fabric today....although I could probably start my own fabric store!!
