Anything coming in canada label has gift if its cost below 60 dollars no duties. If it value is more then 60 you pay duties and tax on the balance!

to put it in perspective, dont know if this helps, i got a laptop labelled at 200 dollars and was charged just under 40 dollars, not bad, but i think they forgot duty fees so im lucky

I'm gonna try for the Macbook...if it's sold out I'll try for an Xbox 360. If all else fails I'll just get some Skullcandies and save the rest of my points to get the Macbook Pro.

Depends if they open your package at the border.

If they put *gift* on the package instead of *say t-shirt or ipod* you dont require to pay fees since someone is giving it to you. But if they put whatever else it will basically mean your buying it and your *bringing it* into the country.

Its hard to explain. You shouldnt and if you do you wont know until CP delivers it. We get ppl like this all the time and they blame me since you know the maillady controls everything.

Sometimes if a package is suspicious they will tip it open - but normally they won do anything unless its such things as food, vitamens, etc. Also, products that are resticted coming into the country.
