Aw, thanks you guys - and yes, I feel a bit like the pug above!
First off, turns out all the pain I had over last weekend after the first extraction was dry socket and I got heck from Dr. Underwear for not having called him at home on the weekend for medicine. I just didn't want to be a baby...
Because of that, there's a high likelihood it will happen again with this one... but I hope not.
This was a bigger molar being done today so I was really more worried, but after having to stop three times to get more needles and once for a different type of med, the sucker finally came out. Gawd, it felt like my whole jaw was being ripped out - at that point no pain, just the pressure.
However, I was in the chair at 10:20 and out by 11, so that was pretty good.
I had also had big shaking last week, and it happened again today - turns out I'm sensitive to the adrenaline which is in the anaesthetic - the dentist said most people would only feel it for a few minutes, while my reaction lasts hours. Yeah, I love being 'special', lol!
Anyhow it's done. I'll stay awake for a while to change the gauze before I down some more Advil and head to bed for the rest of the afternoon.
... and the only thing I can think of when I paid the bill (luckily only 20%, my husband's insurance covers the rest) is that we have to pay to go through torture - just doesn't seem right somehow!
Thanks for listening... it helps to get this all out! I can't phone anyone to talk; they wouldn't be able to understand me!
