ok i need help in more ways than one lol but....
how do i get my 5 year old ds to sit down and work on his letters and numbers this has been an ongoing fight forever i'm shocked that i still have any hair left i've tried so many things and nothing is working he loves school but is so far behind he just doesn't care to learn and i know he know;s more than what he lets on does that even make sense anyways i need suggestions please
Exhausted from playting tag with the dog (yes, I'm too old, but she had fun). They're bugging me for dinner, but I'm still trying to catch my breath.
At least he's working! I know lots of guys in the oilfield here in Alberta that have had barely any work this past year.Quote:

Nancy, is it just knowing numbers and letters, or is it writing them that you need him to do? I know he's only 5, but you never know these days.

hmm ... does he like play dough or fingerpaints? How well does he copy you with everything else?
What I've started doing is making "fingerpaints" out of pudding and having DS copy what I'm drawing (as well as he can - he's only 20 months).
We also just sing the alphabet and randomly count at any chance that we get. He counted to 3 the other morning by himself!! I almost cried!!
