WELL the day from Heck is finally over. Funny it's not the t.v or computer I missed but keeping the PG rating in mind here What could I do? The hedge needs trimming, oops electric trimmer, laundry, vacuuming, even dishes with no hot water...I think I need to learn how to relax.

not having power is boring and annoying and that is why we bought a generator! lol We live out in the country and thunderstorms cause power outages often-not sure if they are connected but a thunderstorm equals no power usually. One time we were without power for two days!! that was a huge storm in May and it was close to Mother's day and we cooked on a camping stove outside and pretended we were camping-it was sooo much fun! I was quite small then. Great memories tho!

Need to get a BBQ with a burner! I have one. The power goes out often in my area so I an at least heat the kettle while I wait!
I remember that killer blackout we had back in 2003........ I thought I was going to die. I couldn't do anything.

Funny you mention the Amish. I saw an episode of Pound Patrol last week and in Pennsylvania the Amish run the biggest most disgusting puppy mills in the country.

We have a small section near our area with an Amish Community. We use to get our eggs from the all the time.
We have one, if I need coffee, I go see Timmy! Our power is almost never out. Even during the ice storm in '98 we had power the whole time. We were extremely lucky.Quote:

I am in a small town and we are constantly having outages. I often think we have more Hydro 1 guys than residents in town some days!! LOL

Since we get our water from a well, we don't have water at all during outages. No washing hands, flushing, nothing. We have a generator that is supposed to be used for the cottage, but the bf tweeked it and its no longer working :rant:
Last time power went out, I had to start up the bbq (no side burner as well) and try to heat the kettle for dd's bottle. Boy, was that long...and the screams, omg the screams. Good thing we live where we do, I'm sure someone would of called cps. I am now looking for one of those bottle heaters that plug in the car
