ExpiredIs a person allowed to give someone a negative rating if they have not received their end of a trade?
But I did not send my end of the trade out as it was a newbie with 0 trade rating and I was waiting to receive their end first!?

Hmmmm, I will have to think about this one for a moment. I would say that it is probably a good thing that you never sent your side of the trade.......oh I just thought that you should have a netral rating button.......I vote for neutral rating. You aren't out anything and just this may help others trading with the person in the future ask for them to send their stuff first too. I have a feeling the person decided against the trade and never sent anything thinking you weren't out anything anyways. Not saying that is right, at all. They should have pm'd you to say they changed their mind! Anyways, that is what I think......neutral rating!

Yes, I would call that a negative. Not that it needs to be hostile - just a negative and 'trade not received'.

How can you leave a negative rating if you didn't send yours out either? I could see if you had of sent yours & never received your part of the deal.

I am still waiting on a trade from over a month ago. I sent my half plus extra to cover postage and still nothing. I get "i am working on it" in response to my pm's. Others are getting their trades according to trade ratings. Should this be marked also.
Thought: Why not give a neutral with "trade not received" (to quote Freebiehunter) and a negative with "sent my trade out, did not receive my trade back" as in my case and then you can change/ update the rating if you eventually do get your trade. Maybe this may speed up those type of things.

i have to agree with faithisabel...its not fair to give a negative trading when really..nothing was traded to begin with. I would contact the trader and see what is wrong, then work things out.
however, if your situtaion is different like big-red-dog, and you sent out a trade already, then i would give it at least some time, but of course PM the trader and see what is going on. if no reply, go to mods to see if it is appropriate to give a trade rating.
I've only had to give a negative rating once..and i hope i don't have to again! there is a trade in progress where i sent it out 2 weeks ago and the other person have yet to receive it

Yes, leave negative rating
>>> if the person did not send out the trate as promise.
No, not allowed to leave negative rating
>>> you did not send out yours. At most, you only lost the trust to this person.
Have no idea!
>>> what if this person said trade sent but lost in the mail, or put on the wrong address.
Maybe you should contact Boo. He will do something if there's a lot of complaints to the same person.

Have you talked to the person? What did they say - that it was on its way, or that they decided not to do the trade, or what?
I wouldn't leave a negative because you're not out anything.

Generally try to work it out in pm and then if you can't leave whatever rating you deem ness.
Usually people pm me to give me a heads up this way if the other party leaves a negative in retaliation we already have a heads up

You know, Maxine, it's two absolutely opposite questions (situations). If you didn't get your part of the trade, first of all you should contact the person you were trading with. Then if you can't work it out, you should contact Mods, could be they will help you, even with the information about that trader...maybe you're not the first who meet such a problem in trades with that person. And then you can leave a negative trade rating, in case if you can't solve this problem by no means.
About newbie with 0 trade rating, you just should tell her or him that you'd like get your part of the trade first and then send his/her part. I think if you mentioned it in your PMs, shouldn't be any problems....
