But the cashier charged me the GST and PST for the products, so I paid $2.91. I found it a bit strange- since it was the first time that I used those "free-product" coupons, I wondered if I was supposed to pay the taxes- If I have to "pay" then it's not free.....? Was I supposed to pay the taxes?
If I was not supposed to pay the taxes, is there anyway I can get the money back?

If anyone here at this forum can answer my questions, I would appreciate it very much!
The government wants their taxes....sorry. The product is free but not the taxes.

Looks like this is different from other save.ca links

When you click on http://oralbcoupon.ca/en/ and enter your name & email it generates temporary (1 time) link.
    Something like this
    http://www.save.ca/oralbpulsonic_en?code=NNNNN

You click on this link & it will transfer you to
    http://www.save.ca/oralbpulsonic_en/coupons.php

After your make order, the system turns your NNNNN id off. So you cannot use it again and you cannot go to
    http://www.save.ca/oralbpulsonic_en/coupons.php
    directly

$10.00 off an "OralB Pulsonic Rechargeable Power Brush" toothbrush.

Linked from here to order it: http://oralbcoupon.ca/en/

Edited.... um, not sure what happened... I went to the site, ordered the coupon, and now when I go back it jumps to 'inactive'... anyone else getting that?

I used these Free product coupons at Shoppers Drug Mart. I will ask first the cashier if I need to pay tax with the coupons. If the cashier said I have to pay taxes, then I will tell her that I will use the coupons when the products are on sale. I just picked up my FREE Glade Product from Shoppers.

Some cashiers will not charge you any taxes and you can really have them for FREE. Some said you have to pay taxes no matter what.

I did not pay taxes as it says FREE on the coupon and no where about the consumer paying taxes, sometimes on a free coupon it will say the consumer has to pay taxes, this one just says free,I argue with the cashier if I have to,I hate to but I feel if the coupon says FREE then it's free.
