  1. To be honest I had a big crush on Mickey D! I liked the way he was a comedian although they all were, my daughter can't believe I liked him ! It was a fun time eh?
  2. They sounded great - there was a really good back-up band with them. Nesmeth was missing. Peter Tork is still really thin and looks the oldest. Mickey had gained weight but still looked good too. Davey had a ponch on him but he moved well still! Yes, it takes me back to high school!.. I used to watch them on TV all the time............. back in the day!
  3. The Monkees!!! Wow, that would bring back memories! I had a crush on a couple of them and seen them at Maple Leaf Gardens back in the day. Woops the age is showing! Which one was missing? and how was the sound? How did Davey look?
  4. Right On I'd love to jump right back on a plane and go again, it wouldn't take me long to pack!!! It was really nice - your right, food, beach, pool everything was great. The weather turned out great too. Got burned one day but was okay after that! I posted some pics yesterday. Oh I sure wish I was still there, I am such a such when it comes to holidays ending!!! We had until 5:15 on Saturday and it just flew by - I tried to stop it but to no avail!!!!!
  5. I'm so glad you had such a great time - I knew you would! I can't believe you're back already - it goes by like a blurr, doesn't it?!!! I wish I was there too.......... let's go!!
  6. Sounds like a great time you had. Yes, I'm going to the Grand Palladium Mayan Riviera Resort and Spa. You said you had stayed there before, how long ago?
  7. Yeah, you are right - the time goes by so fast when on holiday!........ best to enjoy every minute - we stayed at the Club Amigo Marea De Portillo outside of Manzanillo - it is the best place to go in Cuba at this time of year - you can depend on the HOT and SUNNY weather - unlike Varadero in the north!.... loved it. Did a sunset cruise and went to Cayo Blanco once for the beach and lobster lunch!..... we will be definitely going back sometime!
I have no doubt you will thoroughly enjoy your holiday - Mexico right? Mayan Rivera?.... make sure you take in Tulum - worth the short bus trip! Even if you don't take any outside trips - you will have a great time anyhow!.... no doubt!
  8. Two weeks is a nice holiday. My upcoming one to Mexico is one week which I am scared of because it goes by sooo fast!!! I want to do some tours, be on the beach, by pool etc and there just aren't enough days. I asked about extending it but that would cost over $3,000 for 2 and they want $300 extra for the plane fair each, so my win would no longer be a free trip that's for sure!!!! Oh well, I am grateful for the week that I won it will fly by though have to make the most of every minute. What part of Cuba did you stay in and did you leave the resort much?
  9. Thanks!......... all the best to you and yours too!..... and have a wonderful, properous and healthful New Year!
  10. I wish you the best holiday season alienshore! and the best in 2011!
  11. That's wonderful! How generous. I'm sure you had a great time! Well done.
  12. Wow, again, gee being bumped "up" is always a great thing! That sounds great "outdoor shower!) wow, I'll mention it but having won the trip I don't know if they will be inclined to give me more for nothing, but hey, why not try! When I'm on a trip like this I always try for a better view or whatever if I'm not satisfied and if they have room they do accommodate you. Glad to hear you say the food is good. I'm so excited I can't wait to go, but don't want it to be over with (its fun looking forward to vacations!) Thanks, if there is anything else you can say please do!!!!
  13. I am so excited for you - I must tell you of our fortunate stay there - when we checked in, there were an inordinate amount of people travelling with families so they *bumped* us up to the "Mayan Suite" - it was fantastic. It had an outdoor shower in a private flower garden! Try asking for it and see what they say!!! We had an awesome time there - it is very large, so the beach and pool were always packed! The food was great- even the buffet was great! The *bus* was also a riot!... it was a broken down van that travels up and down the main street outside the resort with no set schedule! They all seem to have 'mandatory () broken windshields! Tulum was also great - the bus ride there is about 30 minutes, but the walk from the road to Tulum itself was about 30 minute walk - advice- there are many *guided* tours - you can just walk around yourselves. I could go on and on - I am so jealous - I want to go back!
  14. Wow, you were there! Well, hopefully you have only good things to say about it! You look at trip advisor and of course you get people saying great and then people complaining ( I won't be complaining, that's for sure!) It's always like that but the place is rated 5* do you think it should get that?
  15. We have been to that very resort!! It was a few years ago but we really enjoyed it! It is short bus(!!) ride to Tulum where the Mayan ruins are and I recommend it! You will have an awesome trip!!
  16. Thank you for the congrats on my trip! Yes, it was a real shocker to hear my name! I've tried for a nice trip for years so I finally got lucky. I will enjoy it immensely, its a 5* resort too, drinks and food included. Have a good day!
  17. Vegas - was fantastic! I never thought I would like it so much! We saw two shows - The Beatles Love - awesome and Cirque du Solei "Ka" - was very good but didn't understand the story. Also saw the Hoover Dam!.... what a feat of engineering! I especially like the *dry* air - you could sweat but didn't get that clammy sticky feel. I would go back in a heartbeat!
  18. Thanks very much! 39 again ya know - which means I was 11 when my eldest son was born!! :O
  19. Hi, wishing you a belated Happy Birthday, I'm sorry I didn't realize it was yesterday. Anyways hope it was a happy one!
