  1. Thanks for the wishes, hope you had a great Thanksgiving !
  2. Yeah, I was pretty lucky he did spot the dog or we would have never known. I saw a similar american Bulldog at a breeder's and he was priced at $2300 ! Ouch ! hehe. I agree, the enjoyment will be worth it. I am cramming puppy training manuals and will go on a mini puppy spree today after supper hehe. I really want to give that puppy a good home (and I hope my cat doesn't FREAK out hehe, since he is barely an adult cat himself). Thanks for the words of encouragement, and I will post some more pics soon once he is home and used to his new enviroment. Take care and have a happy monday
  3. omg what a find lol. I have to show my bf that picture. He wants a bulldog! lol I thought he was a little tiny bulldog lol. We have to wait a little though cause bf just got a new job and things are too crazy just at the moment. Good call on getting the cage on Craigslist. I just got one for my dog from Kijiji for about the same price. Pet stores wanted 100$+. What a chance thing that your son spotted him. You may be 300$ in the hole but I'm sure all of the joy he will bring you will be priceless. Not a bad deal when you consider the price from breeders can be 2000$!! Have fun getting all the accessories for your new little friend
  4. He is actually a pure American Bulldog (DH's dream dog) and as of now he is Finnegan (they had named him Joe at the shelter). Thanks for the heads up about the purina MyPuppy ! I signed up already so that should help Like I said, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision, so I am taking a couple of days to get a cage, leash, bowls, collar, etc ... before picking him up thursday. (Actually found a nice cage on Craiglist and will pick it up tonight for only $50). Looking forward to bringing him home, and I am not the only one
  5. I know ! I was sooo heartbroken that they would put such an adorable little puppy down, but like most shelters these days they are overcrowded and under strict budget limitations I was actually there to donate some cat items (one of my cats was hit by a car and died about a month ago, so I only have one cat left and had two sets of everything). When I got there, my son just started yelling 'DOG ! DOG!'. Turns out they were moving him from an upstairs kennel to one in the basement. We petted him and my husband and I thought he was adorable (friendly, well behaved !) and my son absolutely loved him. So now I am (so far) $300 in the hole hehe, but at least he won't be put down today !
  6. omg! He was going to be put down? I'm gonna cry! How fantastic of you to give that little sweetie pie a great life. Look at that face! (dog lover here, if you can't tell lol) You must be so excited. What kind of dog is he? It's hard to tell when they are little furry blobs with stumps for ears lol. Did you pick out a name yet? If you register at mypuppy.ca, you will get a coupon for a free bag of food, and a sweet little heart tag for his collar. He's very photogenic huh? lol
  7. Thanks for the reps and for the comment !
We adopted him yesterday (one of those spur of the moment decisions hehe), because he was set to be put down today ! He is adorable, though and after we get some stuff together he is coming home with us on Thursday ! Yay ! My 17 month old is very VERY excited
Thanks again for the reps, have a great day !
