  1. I know a little boy who outgrew his asthma by the time he started school (I think he was 2 or 3 when he started puffers), so hopefully that happens for your little guy too! As for gift cards, there is nothing wrong with handing out those! I'm not sure what your stockpile is like (I know ours has been dwindling down with Christmas and bills on the rise) but Justin and I like to give out gift baskets to our family, people love them and it costs us next to nothing.

Glad you finally got your tree decorated! I was thinking of you the other day when we decorated ours and we put the ornament you gave us when I was pregnant on the tree! It brought back such nice memories for us of the anticipation of Olivia's arrival, it's something that's going to make us smile every year when we put it on.

I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas! <3
  2. Thanks Caitie. It was a rough weekend to be sure but he is doing great now. He is on an inhaler twice a day at least for the next few years but they say sometimes the kids outgrow the asthma. I finally got my Christmas tree decorated tonight so that helped cheer me up a bit but I have hardly any presents bought at all. I have a bunch of gift cards I picked up from Rexall so I may just have to hand those out instead.
  3. I was very frustrated with BFing at the beginning too. Noah was 11 pounds at birth and the first thing they did after he was born was feed him an entire bottle of formula. I had to supplement with formula for the first month until my milk came in enough to handle his feeding schedule. You do what is best for you and your family, if that means switching to formula, do it! I fought and fought with everyone and their mother because I was so determined not to give up on breastfeeding and it did eventually pay off in the end, but at the time, it just made everything seem harder!
  4. I was so doped up because my epideral ran out half way through my c-section so they plunged three needles full of drugs into my IV in rapid succession. Then I threw up on DH three times. LOL. Oh well, he never teases me about it, which I'm grateful for.

It will be hard with DH gone all day long. Just make sure he knows that when he gets home, his first priority is taking over for an hour. Yes, he had to work all day and needs to unwind, but you've been in an unfamiliar and stressful situation. Take a bath, read a book, do whatever you need to to relax for a few minutes.
  5. Thanks so much! Sleep is definately something we're working on! My body is coping pretty well so far, but I am already VERY frustrated with breastfeeding. I have an appointment at our local mother-baby clinic tomorrow for some extra help. I'm about ready to quit!

& I'm sure you didn't look like a meth addict lol. I was pretty drugged up too, I fainted after that picture was taken, then again in the shower when the nurses were getting me cleaned up. Labor was much better than I anticipated though, but DH and MIL were great support people!

I'm sure I'll be messaging you soon lol! DH goes back to work Monday and I'm terrified!
  6. SLEEP WHEN THE BABY SLEEPS. SLEEP WHEN THE BABY SLEEPS. SLEEP WHEN THE BABY SLEEPS!!!!!!! <--- most important advice ever!
  7. Congratulations Caitie, she is beautiful! I go back to work on Monday. Enjoy every minute of it! (Okay, that's a little unrealistic because for the first six months you'll probably alternate between wanting to kill her, your bf or yourself - that's actually perfectly normal. Even my pediatrician said she felt like that too!) But once she starts sleeping through the night and smiling and giggling and laughing and talking and crawling and walking = well, the time will just zoom by!

If you need anything (advice, an ear) don't hesitate to ask please! I spent the first two months home completely miserable because I thought I was the worst mom in the world for occasionally wanting to chuck Noah out the window because I was too afraid to tell anyone about it. The day my DH confessed he wanted to chuck him off the balcony too at times was great! (And then the time he dropped him in the bath tub after I let him fall off the couch - also made me feel much better!) LOL.
  8. Very much so! And we're in the middle of HUGE renovations on our home (we're crazy, I know!) so we've been staying with my parents (don't get me wrong, I love them) but I will be very relieved when I am in my own house again and when the babe is here. 3 more weeks!!! Good luck with going back to work, I'm sure you'll settle in just fine but I imagine it'll be hard the first few weeks. Time flies doesn't it!!??!! <3
  9. Hi Caitie! The little guy was sick all last week and now I'm sick! We're getting ready for Easter (I was about to type next weekend and realized it's THIS weekend EEK!) and starting to look into Daycare for when I go back to work in a little over a month. I hate the thought of it, but I'm sure once I am back and settled into a routine everything will (hopefully) be okay. How are you doing? You must be getting really anxious now to have this all over and done with! ♥
  10. Just thought I would pop by and say Hi! How's the little guy doing?
  11. You're welcome!!!! I'm so glad you liked it, I was a little worried about going so baby crazy since I know from my own recent pregnancy that sometimes you can feel a little lost with everyone being so focused on the little one! *hugs*
  12. JUST CLUED IN! Thank you!!!!!
  13. Thanks for the rep Caitie and the friend request! I know exactly how you are feeling, I remember being so excited and soooooo scared at the same time, but you will get through it. The first few months are hard, not gonna lie, but once your LO starts smiling and giggling at you, ohhhhhhhhhh you will just melt! *hugs*
