yes I am glad I don't work it anymore either. I live in Merritt and with that music fest thing I hated it for we were so dang busy. I would work 12 hours at the pump in the heat with one bread, That was enough for me i quit and now I am a baker..LOL

The poor elderly and disabled get stuck in the middle of everything eh? It's too bad. I used to help people when I could. We were a busy stn. When I worked at the gas stn a new owner from head office bought our station. She heard about all the gas and dashes going on in Maple Ridge so she said she was going to be the biggest b*tch in the town and bust everyone. So she made us sign contracts when she reinterviewed us that we had to pay for any gas and dash if we couldn't get a lisence plate. It worked for me.
Grant went on to work at an Esso station and when he got dragged 7.5 kms the police found his pants and in it was the lisence plate number of the vehicle that dragged him. Grant's Law is the best thing they could've ever done. I no longer work at gas stations and forbid any of my teens too either. We live in Ontario now. I wish Grant's Law could be pushed here. I don't have the energy to do it or I would. Someday hopefully!

No I agree with that law.. I know when I did it 5 years ago my boss at the time tried to get us to pay for gas n dass but I told him he couldn't strong arm me for something that he couldn't force me to pay. He was not a happy camper..LOL. I just feel for the elderly. As some have a hard time getting in and out of their cars and for people in wheelchairs. We had one here where the attendant would come out and help him and people just walked by him. It upset me big time.. I think there should be a bit of a leway on those ones but I totaly agree with the law..

Ok lol I was just wondering. I used to work at a gas station in Maple Ridge BC with Grant DePatie who was murdered over $12.30 of gas and now Grant's Law is in place (thanks to his mom, dad and grandfather). PAY BEFORE YOU PUMP. I was just wondering how that was going along. Are people irate that they have to pay before pumping now?

Hi there, yes i used to be a gasjoc. I worked for the only gas station in town that had attendants pump gas.But now it is all self serve..LOL But the name stuck with me..LOL
