I forgot to mention I took some courses a few years ago and found I was a better student as an older person. I think a big part of it had to do with being a more responsible adult, preparing better, really wanting to be there and learn, no fun social activities to distract me and knowing myself better i.e. needed to review new material within 24 hrs by rewriting my scribbly notes from class.
