Thank you, and for the virtual invite. No worries; I'm getting use to it. My son takes some vacation time @ this time of the year. He's gone camping, real camping - lol, for a couple of weeks. He certainly lucked out with the weather being so nice.
Well now I'm sad. If you lived here, Hon, you'd sure as heck be invited to join us...so unsettling to think that people don't remember others who may be alone this time of year. Would you visit your son and his family at times like this? It's funny you should mention that...we had my late BFF's hubby here for that Jays game and he let it slip that the next day was his birthday, so after dinner I brought him his piece of cake with a little birthday candle on it and sang happy birthday to him! Omg, he was so surprised and delighted! I made him make a wish and blow it out....SO lucky to have a little blue candle knocking around in a drawer!! Big hugs, Sweet Friend....
I'll admit I miss all the celebrations around the holidays, family, friends, great meals, turkey, pumpkin pie, etc. for Thanksgiving, but I definitely don't miss all the work: the prep, the cooking, the clean up, etc. I envy you still having family to celebrate with you. I know you'll have a great time. Geez, I hate being alone. Oh well, it is what it is. At least I can watch the Jays Sun. & Mon. That'll kill 3 hours, and if the weather's nice, I can work outside.
It must have been an amazing game, such a great way to start the series. I was so busy with prep-work, omg you should have seen the state of my kitchen! I tossed everything into the dishwasher and tidied up before I had to pick DH up at the airport. Thank heavens for dishwashers! So....finally able to relax tonight?
OMG - how can you POSSIBLY hate Halloween' bite your tongue. It's my favourite day of the year. I'm laughing; not very often people call what I say "cute - like a little kid stomping it's feet" That's a riot. Well kiddo, you have a great day too.
Oh, Hicks, lol...I just read your thoughts on "autumn" to my Hubby and we thought it was so cute...like a little kid stomping its feet each time you complained about something...it was so charming!!I have to agree with you. Except for halloween. I hate it!! Fall just announces the deep freeze that's on its way. And I hate winter almost as much as I hate halloween.. Have a lovely day, my dear Friend!!
That sounds like a really nice couple day, and so nice to offer a fish-fry. Yes, a real nice way to end the summer. Here it's been raining for the past few days. More tomorrow. Personally, I don't like fall. Yes, the colours are beautiful, the leaves smell nice, I like Thanksgiving, and absolutely love Halloween, but it's cold, wet, everything's dying, and winter's just around the corner. So, I find fall depressing. That's just me. I hope you're enjoying your evening.
Hi, Sweetie!! We just got back a tich earlier, and I just finished posting, and yes, it was an absolutely wonderful couple of days! The street gang (all the retirees on our street) invited us all to a fish-fry and oh, my, we had an absolutely wonderful time! They're just the best people!!! We had a little drizzle as we hauled some stuff to the van, but it cleared up, it's a gorgeous sunny day, and the kids and their friends (the couple who purchased a permanent trailer earlier this summer) will have a great day! They're all staying until tomorrow. I hope you're day is sunny there, too; these are the fall days that are so precious and beautiful! Hugs, my Friend!!
I don't envy you packing up the trailer. I use to hate closing up the cottage, but if you get decent weather, it'll be fine. We're getting more rain today, and all w/end. Saturday is the Blessing of the Animals @ the church. I'm doing the prayers, then church on Sunday. Other than that, there's nothing on my agenda. I was hoping to do some gardening, but with all the rain, I don't think that'll happen. Have a great time for you last w/end this year.
Aw, you had a rainy day? We were absolutely almost summery gorgeous out there today! I got dressed to take Jenny to the back yard swing...socks, shoes, sweater, lol..had to peel the sweater off immediately! How about your weekend? I hope it's sunny for you, Dear Friend. Are you expecting to have a relaxing or busy weekend? Whatever you do, please take good care of yourself, Hicks.
I love it, and you.
Aw, Hicks, it was my pleasure; I had hoped you'd like it...so hard figuring out what someone would like wrt fabrics. SUCH an AWESOME SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks hon, but no, I'm just taking a break. Been on the road, here & there, on & off all day. Just on my way again. I wonder if those pics are digitally created. Either way, some people are really blessed with awesome talent. Not me.
Talk about talent, Hicks...how some people can draw and create such gorgeous and charming pictures of mice are beyond me!! Now THAT'S talent! Hope you're having a lovely, sun-shiny day of complete relaxation!
What could be better - how about the Jays winning the 3 games vs the 1st place Red Socks this w/end. Go Jays.
Thank you, Hicks....first regular game in the 2016-17 NFL season!!! WHAT on earth could be better than that!!? Sweet dreams, my Friend.
Hi, Punkin! Hey, HOT is good! At least, compared to what's going on out west with their mid teen temps...I know they're coming, but the only good thing is that I'm SO ready for turtlenecks and sweatshirt weather! How's by you lately??
You are so handy. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'm impressed. I bet you feel more relaxed now that you've started your wedding 'projects'.
Thank you, Hicks, it was really a lovely, quiet day compared to camping.. I hemmed two pair of our Grandson's jeans, and started cutting into my Niece's (the bride's) Grandmother's velvet wedding gown to sew the ring-bearer pillow...yikes! Hope you had an incredibly lovely day!
Hicks, it was such a busy few days there, and the last night there were 11 family and extended family members around the campfire at the kids' site...we were pooped. The kids came home today also, to get their little guy ready for grade 3.. I have so much to do before my niece's wedding in 3 weeks all I could think about were those things sitting on my to-do list!! I hope you had/are having a lovely long weekend, also!!!
Thank you, Hicks...honestly, I've never felt this discouraged before, but you're right on point about the two steps forward, one step back...that's about what my chiropractor said...things like this don't move forward as we expect them to, unfortunately. I'm quite accustomed to my sciatic pain on my right side, my 3 degenerated discs pain, but this is so different! And much more painful. I see our doc on the 9th, he requested my Hubby to make that appointment for me when he met with him last week...I don't know what the heck else he can do. Nothing really seems to help. Thank you for your caring and your kind words...honestly, they do help. As for your note about "chocolate", that's too funny, because I actually craved it today! I rarely crave chocolate, but today, I sure did. I resisted the temptation, though....now caramel? THAT I may not have let pass me by!
Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. It's a crime that he was making you feel better, only to make it worse again. I don't know what to say, other than hang in there. Hopefully, it's a case of 2 steps forward, and one back. (no pun intended) I think you'll need to forego those shopping excursions for awhile; I don't think they're doing you any good what-so-ever. I pray that tomorrow it's much better.
Thank you for the rep, Hicks....not a lovely last summer day; my chiropractor beat me up again and it hurt quite a bit this time. I needed a couple of sewing supplies, so DH took me to Walmart, I picked up what I needed, walked to the checkout, out the door, and was in horrible pain walking to the van, just about 10 lots from the door! I had to stop several times just to rest!! This is becoming no fun. At all. I'll continue with my chiropractor, but....there is a limit if I'm not seeing progressive progress. If you know what I mean... I hope you're having a MUCH better day, Sweet Friend!
Thank you for the rep. September, I sure hope so. Enjoy the w/end.
Good morning. Oops, somehow I missed your post. I'll go back and look again. Boy, I'm so happy about that win, I'm sorry you can't go to the camp, I know you must be disappointed, but the drive alone could make your back worse. If you take it easy now, hopefully, that'll pay dividends in the near future.
Hicks, yes I sure did see that win you had and congratulated you...lol...what a windfall and something you really needed!!! I'm okay, but not okay enough to go to camp this weekend which is a bummer since everyone will be there, but if all I can do is sit on a sofa and walk a few steps in pain, what's the point? I'm quite mad at myself for somehow getting myself into this mess. Grr. Hope you're faring better and that your little fur-baby is, too!
