That is how it is for DH and I all the time. He is a big guy covered in tattoos and facial hair, I have pink hair, piercings and tattoos of naked women on my body. People look at us in fear sometimes. Then we open our mouths and suddenly they realize that we are genuinely nice people who volunteer in the comunity, raise a beautiful son and are all around entertaining.

And I agree. Most of my friends that were geeks have great jobs. I told DH the other day that I wanted to be a computer geek like our friend who owns his own business, and he agreed that he thinks that he is one of the coolest people we know too.

and as far as my friends "past lives" go, it just shows you, you cant judge a book by its cover. i never would have thought i would be friends with people like that, but they are actually among my best friends so now i dont judge anyone, cause they could be the best people inside!

im actually hoping my boys turn out to be geeks! i wasted so much time in high school trying to be cool and then years later found my "cool" friends were all still working at mcdonalds and starbucks and the "geeks" all had good jobs and did something with their lives lol.

hahah! Kinda sounds like DH`s and my past lives too. We are waiting to see what Toby turns out like. probably a geek instead of a punk rocker.
