  1. I read the conversation on that pot and I was pretty much sold on one too! Have fun and post your results!
  2. Mozza was very easy! I used a kit, made string cheese too, it was tasty. Only did it a couple times, and it wasn't cheap since milk is over $5 for a four litre carton. But it was fun! For the yogurt, I am expecting my 'Instant Pot' from Amazon tomorrow, an electric pressure cooker, that has a yogurt setting that I hope will be easy. Also looking forward to trying a pressure cooker for the first time, I've never used one!
  3. Oh yeah and I have seen them make mozza on some cooking shows. It looks super easy and probably no reason to even use a kit! One day, when I have more time on my hands I would love to be trying this kind of stuff out. There is so many interesting things to learn in the culinary world.
  4. Oh I LOVE yogurt! I have made it in the yogurt makers but not in a long while. Cool, thanks for the info. I just love food and this kinda stuff. Please keep posting your experiments
  5. Hi there! The sour cream - cheaper? No, probably not. Whipping cream is $4-$5 a litre, you use about half of that to get two cups of cream. I'm more interested in it for the fact that it's natural rather than 'artificially soured.' Same reason I make my own bread, have even made my own mozzarella cheese! I feel that it's safe in that you're using cultures found in the buttermilk. I sterilize the mason far before I put the cream in. I'm even planning to try making my own yogurt soon! Hope this helps.
