Love George Clooney, but put him into a suit or tux and he still plays "George Clooney"....my vote is for Colin Firth: I would follow him anywhere!

Sandra Bullock: it's about time this comic actress was recognized for the roles she's played and the happy joy she's given so many of us..

Definitely the movie "UP"! Mr Fox never gave me any warm fuzzies, The Princess and the Frog: wow, very surprising! I wouldn't take a child to see it...even I found places scary!

Who could argue that James Cameron isn't the most innovative director around?! No one comes close to what this man brings to life: he's my choice for best director.

Which, goes along with "Avatar" for best movie! If we're going by mone-made, check! If we're going by box-office attendance: check! It has it all and should pick up quite a few Oscars! It was fantastic.

Why isn't AVATAR there for best costume?! Wow. That's surprising.

Well I figured the true "bashing" would come on Sunday night. We all love to critique the gowns, the pomp, the gafs. LOL

LOL, I thought the same as Tara - that's why I clicked on!
I haven't seen any of the movies, but watch the Academy Awards anyway. Like to see the moldy oldies especially and, of course - the clothes.
Nothing could come close to matching last year's host and opening!
I think the Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin pairing is rather odd, actually... like, aren't either of them strong enough to handle it alone? ... we'll see how they do!

"The Hurt Locker" will win best picture and it should. I found "Avatar" highly entertaining and was visually stunning but not best picture worthy - predictable and weak dialogue.

    Oh, yes, absolutely predictable! lol!
As for the dialogue, I'm not particularly a...what are they called...videophile? Is there such a word? But I wasn't watching it for the dialogue...it really was visually stunning, as you said, and I guess that's what catches my eye...flash and bling! That's me! I'm probably a descendant of a magpie...anything flashy, and it brings me to a screeching halt!

I didn't see "The Hurt Locker"...but it does intrigue me....I would love to see it, but I'm always afraid of movies like that with gratuitous violence...I don't mean acts of war, I mean just ugly, rotten sickening violence..know what I mean? Is there anything like that in there, Curt?
Like the stuff in "Deliverance" or was it "Goodfellas"...no...um...jeepers...I thought it had de niro in it, but maybe not...there was a part in the movie where the bad guys discovered one on them was a cop and they were in some sort of stair-well...and they had him hand-cuffed to the staircase...I had to turn it off. That's the kind of crap I can do without.....

I think I might be the only one who doesn't care for Avatar in any category!

I loves me some Clooney and I'm going to be watching the show with the hopes that Johnny Depp makes an appearance, because as much as I loves me some Clooney, I loves me some Depp even more.
Add me on twitter and I'll add you back! Just mention you are from SC!

It's all violence relating to war. Nothing gratuitous about it.

Thanks, Curt. Then I'll definitely watch it. But so help me...if you're wrong,
I WILL haunt you for the rest of your life if I get scared by yucky violence!
Or...as long as I can't sleep without having nightmares...or whichever comes first!!!
    'Night, sweetie!!
