I can't stand only one thing, waiting... If your store hours are posted as being 9-5, open at 9!!! Make sure someone is there and unlock the door when it is supposed to be opened for buisness

As someone who's worked in retail, inane comments, or when people think they make jokes. Just don't. I also could care less when you complain about having to pay for plastic bags. I honestly to god do not. Sorry. Get over it.

I hate it when people block aisles to catch up and chat, but worse are the people who do it while I'm trying to serve them.

I honestly laugh at people who go through drive thrus, not a pet peeve, but because I can get out of the car, run into the store and get out faster than most people in their car can make an order. Just sayin'.

I never understood letting your child stand in the cart! Mine are always made to sit. Sometimes if there are not two seats, then my toddler sits in the main part of the cart, but he is still made to sit down.

Also, it is funny that you mention about drive thru's because my husband and I get a kick out of this too. Particularly when we go to Tim Horton's and see the drive thru line is out to the road (about 1/4 mile long), and DH goes into the store and is in and out in less then 5 minutes.

One of my pet peeves is when I go to the dollarstore and they have boxes all over the place in the aisles so that you can only get one cart through at a time I was there yesterday with my daughter in the cart and I was trying to pick something up off the shelf and this woman comes along and pushes right buy me while I was trying to get the item off the shelf. Ummm ever hear of waiting a second and saying excuse me???? I swear if I didn't lean my cart over she would have plowed us down, lol.....what's the rush???
Sorry but there's really no need of being rude and then she had the nerve to give me a dirty look as she pushes past with her cart....sorry trying not to rant but I'm 37wks pregnant plus have a one yr old so little things just bug me at this point

Oh I hate that too Lilyana'sMommy! And it seems at most Dollar stores they're aisles are tiny and there's lots of boxes around.

    To GoddessDigi

I mean parents who let their little kids who can hardly reach the handle push the cart while they're looking at products. This usually ends up with kids knocking over products or hitting another customer etc.

And then there's those who let their little kids run around the store. Then they can't find them, or the kids break something
I once had these two kids throwing a bouncey ball (that the store sells) back and forth a length of an aisle. An aisle with glass....

Also another pet peeve is parents who let their kids gnaw on products (toys/bottles/etc) and put it back after with teeth marks...

Another pet peeve: trying to get something off the top shelf when it's up way too high to reach. And the staff have all disappeared somewhere.
One time I was trying to get some crochet cotton off the top shelf at WM, and couldn't do it; no personnel around; luckily for me a man who crochets as a hobby happened by and he was tall enough to bring down 14 balls of it for me. Sometimes fellow customers are just really nice, aren't they?

I do it now, too - after having seen the produce person do it too for someone else! They usually leave a carton on the end with the icky ones... But I guess that is dependent upon the store.

Am I the only one who will hover over a kid left standing in a cart whilst the parent is far away looking for something? I don't want to seem creepy, but I know how easily they can fall out or hurt themselves.... and I have on occasion, told the parent coming back - Good I'm glad you're back. Your child is safe because I was watching so he didn't hurt himself falling out of the cart.

And the Tim's thing is SO true! People will wait for 15 minutes in their cars, what a waste of gas and time!

Up until about five years ago, you bought strawberries bulk. You just picked them out of a big box and put them into the plastic bag in the fruit dept. Some stores even had the little green square baskets to use.

I loved it. You had only yourself to blame for squishy berries. Then all of a sudden eveything was prepacked and face it who wants the plastic clamshell with the mouldy bottom layer.

    I'm getting old.

[quote=lessthanthree;1854221]When cashiers don't want to do their jobs. If you hate it so much, quit! Stop huffing and puffing and acting like it's such an inconvenience to ring in my items/coupons/answer my questions. That's what you're getting paid for, so please do it!

I used to be a cashier and my job was to ring in orders bag them and get to the next customeras quickly and eficiently as possible while still being polite and courtious. I could answer a few basic questions about different departments but if you have several in depth questions you should be asking someone who works in the department. I never had a problem paging someone from that department to come help out. however i dont need people calling me an idiot and threatening to get me fired because i dont know how to fix something or what tools you would need for a job.most coupons i was able to ring in myself but on occasion some "special" coupons were only to be processed at customer service as extra paper work was involved that would only be compatible with those computers (they would say on the coupon) if you dont read the fine print dont get pissed at me that you have to go elsewhere to finish your transaction I have no control over it. If your coupon doesnt cover the item because its not the right sku number dont gram my arm hard and treaten me. sorry for the rant but i took my job seriously and did it well but sometimes the customers are at fault.
