Right now, a few companies have freebies with gift certificate purchases.
Edo has a promotion, buy a $25 gift certificate, they donate $5 to the local food bank. Details here.
Booster Juice: from their website: Free Regular size smoothie with the purchase of a $25 or more gift card!
Orange Julius: Buy a $15 gift certificate, get a small premium smoothie. Not on the website, but was on a sign at our local location, ymmv.
Pita Pit: Buy a $25 gc, get $5 off your order.
Subway: Buy a $25 gc, get any 6 inch sub, free. On their website, here.
Burger King: Get a coupon for a free Whopper Combo with the purchase of a $25 gift card, details here

Hmm. Out promotional package never stated that it was local only... I will check the coupons this morning and see if they are only valid locally...

I remember there was a SC blog post about Little Caesars, free medium pepperoni or cheese pizza with the purchase of $25 GC.
