    Hi friends,

We got quite a few clothing items to launder for our newborn (to be arrived in Mid January), and I was wondering if I can get some advice on which laundry detergent to use for the baby clothes / blankets? Any tips in doing their laundry? Should I just treat them the same as our regular clothes?

    Thanks in advance!

I only ever used Ivory Snow when our son was a baby, and no fabric softener.

Congrats on the upcoming baby! Hope you are feeling okay!

    And Welcome to SC!

I loved the Baby Purex (in white bottle). Never broke either of my babies out and smelled fantastic!

We switched to Tide when we bought a new HE machine but I miss the smell of Baby Purex!

I use Baby Purex as well and a dash of snuggle. My washer also has an extra rinse function so I use that as well. When DD was a baby, she had very sensitive skin and I never had a problem.

Congrats on your upcoming baby! What an exciting time!

I have been using tea-tree oil based products for the last 10 yrs, my son is now 6yrs. I get it from company called Melaleuca.com. Let me know if you want to learn how you can purchase through them, I'll be happy to help

Purex baby has the exact same ingredients as Ivory snow but at a third of the price and works wonderfully.

I'm using baby purex as well for my 2 month old. Love the smell. Can't beat the price either.

We used Tide Free. I'm not a fan of lots of smell, so I wasn't going for the Ivory Snow.

A word of advice on clothes - if you get lots in baby showers, etc., don't do what I did and remove all the tags and wash them. My DS was a big one, he didn't fit into most of the newborn stuff so I ended up giving away a lot of new things!
