Winter please exit.

Feeling OK today. Monday-Tuesday were actual hospital days. Wednesday - Friday are for me to do what I gotta do, but from the comfort of my own home.
Thank you for your encouragement.

I do hope you are all having a wonderful day. St. Patrick's Day. Always a special day in our house. My Mother went all out to make it a fun day for all of us kids. She used to make a potato scone that was delicious. I don't think she had an exact recipe, but it was boiled potatoes - cooled & mashed, a little bit of salt, buttermilk & just enough flour to form the little potato patties. She cooked them on a griddle or electric frying pan. They were always served warm with butter. How yummy!! I guess I should make some for my own family.
I've had a good week. Although I did have to go downtown once for a scan I had no doctor visits & no drugs to take. I really like my weeks off!
Here is one of the many poems that I wrote for my Mother.
I'm wearing my shamrock earrings & a shamrock necklace too,
You gave them to me years ago Mom & I’m wearing them for you,
My exquisite Irish Mother how I can hear your voice so clearly,
Your words of wisdom have rang so true & I cherish them so dearly,
It’s been so many years since we’ve sat down & enjoyed a cup of tea,
Your touch of magic in all you did, will forever be with me,
I’m sorry Mom for making you worry when I’d arrive home so late,
When the light in the kitchen window was on, I knew I’d meet my fate,
You were always fair & accepting & helped me to understand,
Those principles are one of the keys to life with such a gentle hand,
When you lost your temper & gave me that glaring gaze,
I was a most deserving recipient in very many ways,
I’m remembering some of the things about you that made you so unique,
How only you could burn toast every time, was part of your mystique,
Your sense of humour, your singing & your charming zest,
& how you put up with silly me, when I was a bit of a pest,
Your youngest daughter is savouring so many sweet memories of you,
& your “you’ll understand when you’re a parent” advice, sure turned out to be true.

I'm glad you had the week off, hope it was good for you. Thanks for sharing your St.Patty's prose, you've had the gift for quite awhile. You are such an inspiration, and are still very much in thought and prayer. One day at a time Lord, one day at a time.

So glad you had yourself a good week - you deserve many more of the same.
The picture and poem are priceless and remind me of Mothering Sunday coming up this weekend. This will be the 6th year I won't be able to call England to wish Mum a happy mother's day; but she'll be in my mind and memories.

Once again just a word of thanks as I express my gratitude,
As the warmth of supportive kindness truly has much latitude,
At times I admit that the faith is hard to keep as this albatross keeps intruding,
But my dukes are up to a fight with *it*, as I continue my steadfast feuding,
I'll update as best I can as my travels take me where they may,
Hugs to all for caring about me...wish there was more for me to say.
I'm off to the hospital tomorrow for more events to add to my sarcoma chronicles.
