A blog is hosting a giveaway for a Blendtec blender, and you can also get refurbished ones that still have a good warranty on them for quite a lot cheaper. Probably the route I'd go since they and the Vitamix are super pricey but I think are worth it in the end when you think about how much time and energy you save.
Sadly this giveaway is over :,( but there are some discounted ones Discounted Refurbished Blendtec Blenders (still expensive, but if you love making food then I'd say it's worth it!)
Contest ends in a little over a day from now:

Wow, that must be some blender! $100 is about three or four times what I'd be willing to spend on one.

@Zonny-what, you missed seeing Blendtec's Will It Blend? videos on Youtube? They are a treat to watch. I'd say the blender blades will do a through job blending food! (And other things but the blades might not be so hot after the other things are done blending.)

Oh I'm sure it's awesome, just not something I'd get enough use out of to justify the cost. I use my current one about two or three times a year.

Yeah, well for sure - if you are not going to be utilizing a blender very often, then there is no need to spend money on a more pricier one. A lot of the "top brands" do have nice warranties, (I think 5-10 years) so that is reassuring when spending quite a sum of moolah!
And I didn't clue in that the Blendtec was the same as the Will It Blend! :D

I am on the look out for more blender giveaways, so I will post if I find another one!
