WOB, I think the technology has changed in those decades as well, it's just so much less invasive because the instruments are smaller.

The faster they can send people out the door, the better...cost savings doncha know... Same with colonoscopies: some hospitals/doctors use general anesthetic, but here? Noooooooooooo......which is why the next time I have to have one, I'll be travelling somewhere else.

I had my pre-op forms filled out today by my family doctor. Once the surgeons office receives them, hopefully they will contact me soon with a surgery date.

I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee and I remember they didn't "put me out" and I could watch - but I just "didn't care" (drugs) and fell asleep. Good luck ! I hope you get relief from your knee problem! And soon!
