ATB is offering $350 for anyone who opens a new personal chequing account. The deal ends May 31 and you have to add a direct deposit (or have two preauthorized payments) by July 31

I believe yes. For their unlimited account, $2,500 must be maintained and $5,000 for their Advantage account.

I was so not-happy when TD sent me a letter explaining their increase of fees that I cancelled my account with them. I had had it for many years. It was a significant increase, IMHO.

    TD: Totally Dissatisfied.

I have an account with TD and never pay bank fees, I just negotiate with them to get them waived. They know I will take my money elsewhere if they start charging fees so they don't charge them

Good for you, Dan! I explained to TD why I was closing my long-standing account, but they acted like they couldn't care less. The bank was busy that day, so perhaps that is why they didn't offer me an alternative.

I opened my ATB account earlier this week and have so far been impressed. It took about 20 minutes and once I have two preauthorized monthly payments coming out, I'll get the $350 cash in July. And I'll maintain the minimum balance of $2,500 so I won't pay any bank fees at all.

ATB also pays $150 for a referral, so if you're interested contact me and if you use me as a referral I'll split the money with you so you can get $425 for a new account. A win-win!
