Wow, glad you were there so it didn't burn more things.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

That's so scary!! You`re lucky you were home, if you had pets and knocked it over by accident

Gas particles under pressure-you don't want a metal container to explode and to send shards your way. The likely reason for being told not to handle the dropped can-maybe another movement could have caused a weakened spot on container to open up and release the contents. Such a close call. And yes, colder temperatures can make gas particles get closer. But the container's compromised from the fall-definitely a hazardous waste item now (you cannot bin a pressurized container until it's empty or a garbage truck chute compressor could be damaged when the load is compacted).
Might as well remind everyone living in residential houses to check their dryer exhaust vents for any dryer lint stuck in crevices on the outer vent. I happened by the one at home yesteerday after clearing snow/ice and saw lint again. Had cleaned it about 3-4 months ago-must be something in the dryer sheets as it was clumped into the corners, on the flap below/above).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Nice recommendation on the dryer vent inspection. Not only can this be a fire hazard and something that is constantly overlooked by home owners....it can also save money on the electrical bill. The shorter and more free flowing your dryer vent is, the quicker and more efficient your clothes will be dried. I have a stacker unit and I have to open up the lint catcher monthy to free up the lint (poor design i guess) so when you think about that and realize that there are feet and feet of tubing leading to the outside that can be collecting lint just as badly...
edited to say: What I mean by opening up the lint catcher - I mean, unscrewing the whole plastic catcher that holds the tray that you should normally be removing and cleaning after every load. I found this particular model catches a lot of lint behind the removal screen and within the interior venting of the dryer itself. Only way to clean it is to remove the plastic molding that the lint screen slides in and out of and and reach in and pull it out lint.Last edited by vw_girl; Mon, Mar 2nd, 2015 at 01:12 PM.

Thank the Heavens you are okay. That is really odd, who would have ever thought something like that could happen.
