Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Hope you are better soon.
About today's question, I heard that some employers limit the number of sick days you can take each year. And, after you reached the maximum, they have a sit down with you to talk about what's going to happen next.
Sometimes people come in to work sick because they are afraid that their employer will get back at them. But they should do like danger_dan and stay home if possible.
A friend had this situation and went to work while sick. Coworkers and boss took one look at my friend and called at taxi for my friend to go home. They could tell right away that my friend was really, really sick.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Fri, May 8th, 2015 at 08:13 AM.

Sorry to here you're under the weather today Dan.
I do that the odd day off sick but I prefer to call it a mental health day away from the stress.

OMG poor Dan, I too hope you feel better soon. I am like Dededi "I do that the odd day off sick but I prefer to call it a mental health day away from the stress". No one likes to be sick but wen we are there is only one thing to do and is Rest and drink lots. I know people that take all their sick days wen ever they want and wen they are really sick they pay the price for it. Some of them believe they will never get sick but believe me it can happen at any time for real and than what. It happen to me, I had and accident at work that cause me to have a brain surgery. I was so happy to have my sick days to help me during that time, because I did not have to worry about money.
Thank you Dan for another great post.............................

I usually end up with two or three days each year. This year though my sick days have been more to take care of my husband than for myself. I'm lucky to have a good employer that let's me take a sick day when I had to take him to hospital twice this year.
Feel better Dan!Last edited by beckie.c; Sat, May 9th, 2015 at 01:32 PM.

Feel better soon Dan!
The last sick day I had was when I was in the hospital. I was sick for almost 3 weeks but kept plugging away since DH was away at work and I had 2 kids to take care of. Turns out I was sicker than I thought. DH convinced to go to the hospital when he got home and within hours I was having emergency surgery. Now I know to have myself checked out MUCH sooner!
Luckily I rarely get sick and usually not to the point where I can't function and make it through the day with light duties.
