Canadian Tire is taking over the Target space at Hillside Mall in Victoria....
apparently CT is set to take over 12 retail spaces that were previously Target...

I am surprised about the Pointe-Claire QC one. There is a Walmart location a few blocks away.

Aw man..I guess that means no Walmart for us I was really hoping for one, we could really use one..

One of our two Targets is becoming a Canadian Tire (Aurora, ON). Still no word on the Newmarket, On location but have a feeling this will stay empty for a LONG time, it is in the mall and most stores that would fill a space that large are already within a few minute drive from the Mall. I have heard a lot of buzz that they are trying to get a grocery store but it won't happen, every major grocery chain has a store within 5 minutes.

Not sure what will happen to Cloverdale.. can`t see it being either Walmart or Loblaws since they are literally down the street from each.

I was hoping this wouldn't happen. I wasn't a fan of Target, but I want some variety instead of having a small Walmart down the road from a Super Centre. It's so boring to have the same stores on every corner!

I'm surprised Walmart is going in the Guelph location, Guelph spent years trying to keep Walmart out of the city.
I can't see anything going in the Kitchener or Waterloo locations, there's a WalMart/Canadian Tire/Goodlife within a 5 min drive of both locations, Lowes is in the same plaza as the Kitchener location, and Home Depot is a 2 min drive from the Waterloo location. I'm betting Cambridge gets taken over by a discount grocery chain(No Frills, Food Basics or maybe Freshco) there's not really any of those that close to the mall, and they need something other than the movie theatre to draw in customers now that Target's gone because the mall is getting empty.
