Safeway recalls chicken wings in 5 provinces
Safeway has recalled four types of its store-packaged chicken wings, which were sold in five provinces, due to potential food poisoning caused by bacteria.
The cooked wings may contain a toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria, which is linked to food poisoning.
The food was sold in Safeway locations in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Products affected are:
- Party Pack Chicken Wings Hot Salt N Pepper.
- PPK Wings Mix flavours Hot.
- Pinty's Wings Salt and Pepper Hot.
- Pinty's Wings Salt and Pepper Cold.
The affected products were sold up to and including Aug. 14.
Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store, the CFIA said. The agency added there have been no reported illnesses associated with these products as of Sunday.

Wow eh? Good you posted that Natalka. I alwyas make up my own wings from scratch if I see any trays of them marked down at FB or WM, but these days even wings are overpriced. Hope no one here got sick from any they bought.
