just learning from you and other SCers who plan ahead with gifts, so we are
    not stuck paying full price
not being in crowded stores with rude people
    not worry about heavy snow
    not worrying about icy roads/sidewalks

nice deals Shwa! PC points come in so handy!! It is tough for DH and I to contain ourselves when we are in any Garden Centre, but we managed to get some decent hanging baskets for $8.99 ea at FB.

Yes. We found local Food Basics plants to be pretty good too. Last year I noticed that Costco and Food Basics got their hanging baskets from the same Niagara grower --> it was on the hang tag.

Home Depot and Lowes have reduced plant sections, inside and outside (HD 6 pack pansies reduced to $0.74). Loblaws had lots of planters near mother's day and some are being discounted so they can make room for more garden center supplies.

My crystal ball was working well. A tall cart full of hanging basket geraniums at 50% off. This cart was at the back of a very large nursery.
At the front entrance two shelves full of white pansies at 50% off.

    Yup, too many plants.
    Didn't buy anything.
If you need some plants at a discount, check out your larger garden centers at grocery stores
