June Savings Brag

Posted in Azevedo's thread but for those who don't read that one, wanted to let everyone on here know. Hope you can take some of these and use for yourself to save money.

A brag about fitness savings:
Mentioned before, we are taking advantage of Toonie Tuesday at a local recreation center and Free Fridays too. Nice to use the gym for free on Fridays. It's because of Parks and Recreation Month.

Plus, for other days of the week, a 10 pass fitness admission has gone from $90 to $60 from June to Sept. We have to buy them before the end of June, but still a 33% decrease is nice.

A brag about gas for the car:
Some grocery stores are giving out a coupon for 3 cents off per liter of gas when you get your grocery receipt. Some people are leaving the coupons with the cashier or dropping them before they leave the store. So I got one and saved a whopping $0.73 off gas. Small, yes, but I'll take it.

A brag about water savings:
Our water use is gone down just a little bit. Our next bill should be smaller. With going to the gym, they let you use their showers. So the more we go to the gym, the less we use our water for showers.

And we don't water the grass. Rain does that. And if the grass gets a little brown, we know it will bounce back to green with the next rain. And if not, brown is still a colour. Lol. Plus we have our home made rain barrell thanks to our Rubbermaid garbage can bought on sale and with Club Z points from Zellers, back in the day. We use that water we catch for the tender plants. The hardy plants can take a bit of dryness until the next rain.

June is turning out to be a nice month for the wallet.

Every little bit adds up, inching closer to keeping more $$ in our pockets and bank. I love using the pool change rooms to shower at every day, saves us water too!

Yes. Nice money savings. We pay for municipal recreation centers and pools in our taxes, so we may as well use them

The staff made an error on my passes and to make everything right, they gave 2 more days free workout good until end of September
