Please stop trading or letting halifax girl ride trains until she makes good on her trains. I dont understand if "canada post" was the problem then how come her new account seems to be getting and receiving trades.

Did you know what coupons you were getting the bundle beforehand or no? Like did you get to pick them or was it just a straight up bundle of mixed "starter coupons" valued @ $50? 6 stamps for $50 worth of random not handpicked coupons seems high to me (but then maybe that's just me). Especially if that's what you ended up getting...

Did the trader let you know what the expires were ahead of time?

I didn't know what's in it, its a mixed bundle, not hand picked. but it did say on her post that many 2012 exp.

I had a similar experience when I first started and did a trade for a 'mixed bundle'. It was not an envelope that many traders would want or would value as being worth the $5 gift card I sent. I chalked it up to experience and from that day forward traded only for hand-picked coupons. I have had excellent trades since that time and find that when I choose the coupons I want (and always confirm expiry dates), I use all of them and get great value.

By no means are all traders sending mixed bundles sending 'junk', but I have been leery since my initial experience.

Good point, I will start doing the same, only hand picked bundles/coupons, the mixed bundles are just too risky to trade. too much to deal with afterwards. Thanks.

Depending on what you were promised re expiry dates is what I would base it on. While I don't necessarily think it's great to send bundles of random coupons for that amount of stamps, if she didn't violate the terms of what was agreed upon, I don't think that it is fair to give a neg rating.

I also don't think yu should worry about giving a neutral or negative rating if it's absolutely necessary. I've only done it once, but I think that some cases absolutely warrant it and others shouldn't "blacklist" you for having done that. I actually think too many people give positive ratings when they didn't have a positive experience (thereby inflating the trader/passenger's rating). Ive agreed to disagree with passengers in the past, and we've just not left ratings etc. because I'm not going to say something was positive if it wasn't. It gives other sc members a false sense of what that person is really like to trade with.

In your case, if this bundle satisfied all of the specifications it was touted as having, I'd chalk this up to a bad experience. 6 stamps is just over $3 so that's really what you're out of pocket. If you're looking to keep building your collection, I'd recommend checking out the trading boards and seeing if anyone is trading hand picked coupons for gift cards. A lot of traders will send you $10 worth of coupons in exchange for $1 on a GC. I do that all the time! $100 in great coupons for $10 is a bargain to me! I know I've had you on trains and traded with you no problems, so I wouldn't worry about already being "black listed"

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've always left positive rating for everyone I traded with and train passengers, even with not too "positive" coupons, lol, now I know what to do with these, just not leave any trade ratings at all, I learn something new everyday on here. Thank you so much!

I need advice in regards to leaving negative feedback.

I conducted a train back in Nov. It ran smoothly for the most part - everyone sent their envies to me in a timely matter, there were a few errors in what coupons were sent, but I added coupons of my own so no rider got stiffed with a bunk package. That's, what I believe to be, is my job as a conductor - especially on a newbie welcome train.

I sent out the envies as soon as the last incoming came in and got feedback from everyone but 2 riders. The one hasn't logged in since the end of November. The other logs in quite frequently. I have sent both 3 PM's asking to see if they even A) got their envie, B) if so, to please leave feedback as stated in the rules was mandatory to do. I understand the first rider hasn't been on in almost a month. But the second has. I've left her a wall posting as well.

As stated in my rules, because this was a newbie train to bring peoples trading rating up, that leaving feedback was mandatory.

Feedback is not an option - appropriate feedback for each rider and the conductor (me) must be left after you've received your bundle. If you do not leave feedback, I will leave negative feedback for you.

So, what do I do? I really hate to leave negative feedback, but I am very disappointed in not ''finishing" up my train. It's not only not fair to me, but to the other riders to not get their trade rating.

Thoughts/opinions as to how I should proceed?

I need some advice please!

I started my first traditional train about mid-November, there were 3 cars, 2 of which have now made it home. The last rider on my 3rd car is not responding to multiple PM's, messages posted on the thread, and messages posted on their wall. The envie was mailed by the other rider 3 weeks ago, and it's only going about 30 minutes away. This rider that is not responding to PM's has not logged on for a week now (but she did log on AFTER I sent PM's)....how much longer would you wait for a response before leaving appropriate feedback??

Not leaving neg feedback just because you didn't get it, while a requirement of the train, would IMO be like retaliatory feedback. Perhaps neutrals saying communication errors but you did get the train and leaving negs like that may impact your trading as people see you as being unapproachable

Still no word from t.sanwald. I pmd this trader on Dec 9th and noticed that she/he was on this site shortly after (but didn't message me)...since then, no activity. This was a large trade of $40 worth of high value coupons traded Nov 28th.

Just an update on the train conducted by momof4boys...

She said she mailed it back to the riders on Nov 16 and no one has received it. I noticed, at least, one other trade and one other train has gone awry with her as well. Pretty safe to assume at this point that she just kept everyone's envies. Crappy. I sent out some good coupons on that train to my fellow riders, including FPCs.

Really hope it's here tomorrow bc there's boxtops that were part of the trade which need to br mailed by tomorrow or else they're expired Was told the trade was going to be mailed at the beginning of Dec!

One was sent out within days - so I did not think anything of it.
But since we arranged two and BOTH are MIA, I dont know.
