Argh. Warning...rant ensues. LOUD, LOUD, LOUD. That's how it is at my farm. We have neighbors -- a large extended family -- from Toronto who keep a "summer place" across the way on the other side of our gravel road. People have to live and so we ignore the extraordinarily loud parties they throw every weekend in late spring and summer and early fall even though it keeps three other families on the gravel road awake almost all through the night and well into the morning hours. We just live with the fact that our one skittish dog hides in the bathroom, trembling, whenever they party -- parties that are so sound-conductive that our next-door neighbor (who is farther from the offending property than we are ) says it sounds as though the people are in the their bedroom, and talking to each other over their mattress. My God, the Toronto folk are loud! Last night was a bit different. They fired guns even though it was pitch black...illegal and dangerous. Way dangerous. And something akin to a fist fight must have broken out because women kept screaming "Stop it, stop it, stop him!" The screams and non-fun ruckus lasted about 20 minutes.
I DON'T WANT TO CALL THE POLICE ON MY NEIGHBORS. They have ignored requests to tone it down. But i am a zombie this morning because sleep was a cruel illusion last night. Why the hell can't they just get drunk and pass out like normal people?
