Albright–Knox Art Gallery
The Albright–Knox Art Gallery has long operated not by collecting artists' work in depth but by trying to acquire key works.
Revolutionary styles from the early twentieth century such as cubism, surrealism, constructivism are represented in works by artists like Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes, Henri Matisse, André Derain, Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian, and Alexander Rodchenko. Frida Kahlo is represented by Self-Portrait with Monkey.
Because of Seymour H. Knox and Gordon M. Smith, a former director, the Albright-Knox was one of the first museums to collect Abstract Expressionism in depth

getting ready for Dorian, nothing like the Bahamas or States, etc but we'll probably get A LOT of wind & rain....securing boat, putting away loose objects that can fly through the air and having gas for generator and lots of food, water, etc in case of a power outage
Issued at 08:39 Wednesday 04 September 2019
For Hurricane Dorian.
The next information statement will be issued by 3:00 p.m. ADT.
Hurricane Dorian will move into Atlantic Canada and extreme Eastern Quebec this weekend as either a Category One Hurricane or a strong Tropical Storm.
Currently Dorian is a Category Two system and is still near the coast of Florida. It will move up along the Eastern Seaboard to Cape Hatteras on Friday, then will get caught up in a westerly flow and will move near Nova Scotia on Saturday and will probably move over Newfoundland on Sunday. When it moves into Atlantic waters it may still be a Category One Hurricane, but is expected to diminish to a Tropical Storm as it moves though our region.
Possible Impacts:
A. Public
Rainfall will be significant, especially north and west of Dorian's track. This suggests highest rainfall amounts are likely for the southern Maritimes and parts of Newfoundland, but some rain is likely over most regions. Most regions will see some tropical storm force winds, and south of the forecast track winds may reach hurricane force. Wind impacts may be enhanced by foliage on the trees, and may cause power outages. There will also be some rough and pounding surf, especially for parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
B. Marine
As Hurricane Dorian moves into our waters, there is a reasonable chance of hurricane force winds near and south of the track, mainly over the southern Atlantic forecast waters. There will also be large waves, again mainly over southern waters.
Hope all is OK for you folks in the path @KelJo and @Newfiescreech and all others! Be safe!
Here it definitely feels like fall today. Was up early cleaning the yards and it was cool and almost chilly and breezy! A nice change but happy for more warm still to come! :)
