Would it be possible to make a new tab that has the how-tos, as well as a current list of moderators. At one point, I needed some help & tried to pm a mod, only to have no response. It wasn't until a few days later that I found out the individual I was trying to contact was no longer acting as a mod (the list I found was out of date).

I suggest a tab, as that way it would be very visible & easy for all to find (even foolish ones like me ).

The currently most active mods are:

Boo Radley - Admin

Sally888
itsjustmebub

Other mods are:

caring - if you have a problem with spam, she's your person
roseofblack - is not on as much as she would like to be, busy with work and/or school
Koala - is retired, still around
Cyanne and chococrazy - they help out with the SDM Event
ilovemykids - retired, not around

The search for a new topic doesn't work as good as it should though. Not sure how it could be polished up...but, often posts I have put we already posted, or show up again etc. Kind of discourages me from posting new contests.

Perhaps more categories for posts...? Not sure, again, how to make it a little more refined...or to keep repeat posts from happening. ????

What do you mean more categories for posts? In the contests forums like a couple other have suggested?

Also, I think hundreds of thousands of pages for a topic (i.e. which contests have you won?) should be cleaned out and limited.

I personally think SC needs more mods. I am NOT saying the mods now aren't doing a great job because they are! but 4 active mods for a site with over 70,000 members is not enough. I often find many things on SC that are over looked or forgotten because the mods are way to busy dealing with the already hundreds of other complaints and concerns.

I mean 4 active mods, 70,000+ members thats 17,500 members per mod and thats way to many. I have been a member of other forums where they have atleast 10 active mods and not nearly as many members and the site is run very well, Im not saying SC isnt run well because it is but I just think more mods are needed, I mean we will soon be reaching 100,000 members!

Just my suggestion.

I don't think we need more mods. I find that a lot of the tasks are admin-specific, so that falls to busy-bee Boo - like a lot of the suggestions given in the thread! Otherwise we are pretty good. I find that when we do need some backup help, like organizing threads, recruitment is quite quick. I have a couple of ideas brewing at the moment.

I thought tommygunn made a good point on the disabling user notes issue as we can't edit or delete them if there is something unwanted posted.

SC seems to be getting hit with a lot of spam... while it hasn't happened in my user notes yet it did happen very recently in my Pie Group, someone had posted a picture related to their business and the few posts they had made on SC were all advertisements for their business.

I don't like how on the blog someone else got credit for posting the Rona coupons when I had posted them 16 hours prior Mods should have to make sure it wasn't a repost before they post it to the blog and give the credit.

I'm not mad though! It's not like the world is going to end, but it's nice to get credit on the blog!

Wow! just finished going through this thread! My little suggestion is on the Tournaments. Some tournaments still show as active even though there are either no results or the game itself didn't work properly and every one got zero. If someone could go through the old ones and end them it would clear up the board.

I think that the mods and Boo are doing as good a job as they can especially when it's a relatively thankless job to begin with.

Ahem! This was not addressed. I know it's not the most important thing in the world, but of 68 active Tournaments, the majority of them should be closed. Just to keep the game room and tournament section clean you know.

I love smart canucks. I have no problems with this site what so ever. I have told my friends and families about this site and now they are all addicted to it. Thanks for all your hard work. I really appreciate it.

I don't know if this was suggested, or if it is possible. But, I think it would be helpful to have a date beside the oringinal posters name. Being a new person, I am going back through quite a few different sections, and I open up some only to find out that it was posted back in 2008. It is mostly in the contests, or freebie section that this would be helpful. I feel anyway. Then the person could make the choice if they are going to open up this thread or not.
Other than that little suggestion, I am loving it.
