Well, in all fairness to CTV...I think sledge hockey is the most popular paralympic sport....so I assume by airing the opening ceremonies right before they will get more viewers. But yes, it would have been nice to see it live.
Also, I think there is only 1.5 hours....and I think the actual show is just over 2? I suspect there may be some parts cut out.
DD can't tell me anything but is VERY VERY impressed with some of the performers who are overcoming disabilities to dance, etc. I think this has been a really eye opening experience for the kids to be in this environment."Far over the misty mountains cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old,
We must away ere break of day, to seek the pale enchanted gold."

Just heard CTV is thinking of airing it live after all (6pm in Vancouver) - then again Saturday. I guess we'll see.

My friend Robbi came 6th in the Women's 3km Pursuit Biathlon - Visually Impaired.
She didn't make the podium and I know she will be disappointed, but considering that she only started the sport 4 years ago, it shows she is an amazing athlete.Last edited by Psychojo213; Sun, Mar 14th, 2010 at 04:41 PM.

It's sad how little coverage there was for the Paralympic games. Even worse was my city's coverage of the event featuring local athletes. My friend finished 6th, 5th, and 4th in her events (her first time at the Paralympics...just short of the podium each time. I know she is happy with her showing and this will make her train harder for the next games in 4 years.

For her first time, that's pretty darn good. Congrats to her! So, she's going to Sochi? that's fantastic!
