Not sure why this is but I won a listing that had free shipping.

The sender was from the states. Sent item via UPS and now has a brokerage fee of $19.66. Item can be found for max $2 second hand and $8 brandnew. I didn't accept item as I wasn't at home. Listia points have been refunded. Do I leave a negative or just leave it? Am I forced to accept item and pay UPS? grrrrrrr

So now UPS has sent a collection notice. I did not accept the item in question.

I think brokerage fees are related to crossing the border, customs and can include duty. It has nothing to do with shipping.
I'm sure there are some more experienced folk who can narrow this down.

Any idea why a Canadian would have free shipping for the US and winner pays exact for Canada on a listing?

Hi HorndoggJr.,
Listia is a site that you bid on auctions with credits (no money) and you can list the stuff you want to give away and members will bid on that for credits (again no money).
This is an auction site. For many different things.
I would advice you to watch the video at the very beginning, it is loaded with info.
You will be awarded some credits when you join to get you started.

Not to worry, everything is easy. And I'm only a message away if you need help or a question answered.
To earn extra credits on the site you can: Do surveys, watch videos, do special tasks, share certain auctions on Facebook and loads of other ways.
I would suggest you start out small - like with stickers, hair ribbons, anything that is inexpensive and will fit in an envelope to be mailed to the winner of your auction. It is up to you if you're willing to mail out of Canada. However, most of the members are in the US so it is always a good idea to include them whenever possible.
I think they are still using PayPal for anything that needs actual money, usually for postage.
The more of your profile that you can fill out the better. Members actually look at this (not that they can see details, only that you have provided certain information already).
GIN means Get It Now. After you've been active for awhile you will be allowed to use the GIN. It just means that the seller has placed a certain amount to win the auction instantly. Usually the auctions run anywhere from 3 days and up. You can click on the link I provided for the Stouffer's codes. I had a GIN on that auction and hogama took my GIN instead of waiting till the auction ends and taking the chance that she doesn't win it.
You have a look around Listia, watch the video, check out some of the thousands of auctions that are listed. You can join and not be active (I wasn't for several years till I wanted those codes hehe). Now I login everyday, I'm addicted!!!!!!

I have more Stouffer's/Lean Cusine codes. You can join Listia to get them or if you have any diaper codes I will do a trade.
