Renewal is coming up and I am looking for a better deal. The Petro Pts. offer with pts. transferring to CAA is not appealing. So I am looking for something better for the benefits of CAA like towing. Any ideas please?

Theres lots out there, I suggest searching online with google.
When mine was up I looked around. While there was a lot cheaper than CAA none offered the towing distance CAA has.
I have had CAA off and on. Toyota has one for the first 3 years of your car so I always let me CAA go when I buy a new car.
Years ago I needed a Towtruck. I was away at school so we could have it fixed there or tow it back to my parents. Which was really the only option for us since I was too young to drive the rental!
If we didn't have CAA the tow would've cost over $300.

We like CAA (AMA) but rarely use their emergency services. We do have all of our insurance there and find it convenient for renewing plates, drivers licenses etc. We even buy our movie tickets there
I did have a car accident 2 years ago which required towing for me and the other driver. The police were happy to find out that we both had AMA. They said it is their preference at an accident scene. I think they have a preferential number or something which they called and had us all taken care of quickly.

Also for CAA you dont get your car registered but the driver so if the driver is at the scene any family member and or friend can take advantage. for eg. once we were at a party and a friend had a flat tire , my husband had CAA so, he called them to change the flat.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you go with a cheaper option, that company may not have coverage in all areas. So you could be stuck out in the middle of nowhere and be told "Oh sorry! We don't cover that area." Because CAA is so huge they have coverage pretty much everywhere.
